The Mischievous Dog

Notoriety is often mistaken for fame.

There was once a naughty dog.

He snapped at everyone who came to his master's house without any provocation.

So his master fastened a bell round his neck to warn people of his presence.

The dog was very proud of this bell, and walked about arrogantly, tinkling it with immense satisfaction.

His friend, an old dog, came up to him and said, "Fool, do you think that the bell was given to you as a reward of merit?" "

My friend, On the contrary, it is a badge of disgrace." "To caution every one of your annoying presence."

Moral: Notoriety is often mistaken for fame.
