Cities Where Digital Nomads Feel at Home

As the name implies, digital nomads lack a set home as they can work from anywhere. Whether you’re a blogger, a social media marketer, or a web designer, you can live your life constantly immersing yourself in new cities.

Live and Work in Fabulous Las Vegas

The entertainment capital of the world needs no introduction. Vegas has everything from world-class life shows to casinos to art galleries. As a nomad, you can choose between hundreds of coworking spaces and spend your nights visiting attractions such as the fountain shows or riding the Big Apple roller coaster.

There are many short-term rental options in Vegas to suit any budget, with a two-bedroom unit starting at just $1,000. Generally, the closer you are to the main strip, the costlier it gets.

Go to Tempe for a Waterfront Lifestyle

Set along the Salt River and just southeast of Phoenix, Arizona, Tempe is ideal for nomads who enjoy a laid-back environment. The city has many entertainment amenities around Town Lake, including several live music venues. You can spend your sunny days working by the waterfront, in one of Tempe’s many work-friendly cafes.

If you want to rent an apartment in Tempe for a few months, have a look at websites such as Rent.com. Sites dedicated to renting let you filter searches based on your needs including how many bedrooms you want. You can search by price and area and even filter pet-friendly options if you’re travelling with your best friend.

Explore the Golden City

While San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the country, the home of the Golden Gate Bridge is the cultural and financial hub of California. There you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice with coworking spaces to inspire productivity. The city has many attractions and amenities to keep you busy during your downtime, including the famous Alcatraz prison and Lombard Street. You might, however, struggle to find an apartment on a lower budget in the city, considering studios cost around $2,000 per month.

Move to the Word’s Live Music Capital

Located alongside the Colorado River, Austin, Texas, is considered one of the best places to live in the country, and it hosts year-long music events. There are over 250 music venues, many of which were career starting points for the likes of Janis Joplin. The city has many parks and amenities to suit all tastes, including Zilker Metropolitan Park. Austin is also amazing for its shopping opportunities. Head to The Second Street District or the South Congress Avenue after a full day of being productive in one of the many cafes.

When looking for short-term rentals in Austin, you can expect to pay just over $1,100 rent for a one-bedroom apartment. If you want a second room for office space, a two-bedroom in the area costs, on average, only about $200 more.

Live Your Life as a Traveler

If you enjoy exploring new places and always being on the go, the nomadic lifestyle is for you. You can visit new cities for mere weeks or months at a time, and maybe one of the cities above will convince you to commit long-term.
